Across the Universe (2 hours, 10 minutes; PG-13) Sunday, Feb.14th, 2 p.m. inthe Loft at the Evanston Main Library, 1703 Orrington Ave. In this psychedelic film that rolls along to the melodies, beats, and words of many Beatles hits, a young dock worker travels to America in the 60s amidst our greatest social upheaval and falls in love with a sheltered teenager named Lucy. When her brother Max is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, the two join the anti-war movement, the struggle for free speech and civil rights. Join us in the Loft to celebrate Valentine's Day with Julie Taymor's beautiful, inspired musical that literally sings with fresh renditions of the Beatles' most popular songs. Teens only!
