So, bottom line, a lot of good people are out of work, and I believe that too many of them don't know the best way to get a job, so the process takes longer than it needs to. I would like to see a resource where people share stories and learn from each other and get good at job-hunting.

My personal belief is that sending resumes to job boards and to company HR sites is a waste of time. I think it is much more useful to set up coffee and lunch with friends, explain what you are looking for, specifically, and ask for help in making introductions ar organizations you want to work for. I find that being specific helps to "cut through the noise," and "keeping your options open" is counterproductive because you fail to be memorable and you are asking your friend to figure out where you would be a fit, rather than telling him or her directly. My 2 cents.

I have an office building in Evanston that has available the end of April a really neat loft office with a conference
room. I would like to develope a co-working space for people that want an upscale office atmosphere for
networking and exchanging ideas. This loft area is perfect for this type of project. Please contact me for
ideas and additional information on how to make this work. Marion@smartrealtymb.com
