Presidents’ Day is no time for the kids to sit at the computer! The City of Evanston’s Recreation Division has several fun outings and camps to occupy your kids and teens over the Parent/Teacher conference day on Friday, Feb. 12, and the Presidents’ Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 15.
Fleetwood-Jourdain Center continues the SHAG, School Holidays Are Great, program on Feb. 12 and 15 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at the Center, 1655 Foster, for kids age 5-12 years. If you have questions, call 847/448-8254.
On Presidents’ Day only, Feb. 15, there is basketball camp for children in grades 1-6, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Chandler-Newberger Center, 1028 Central St. Participants will be taught with age, size, ability and maturity in mind. For more info, call 847-448-8682.
For the student in grades 6-8, the Ecology Center is offering a Presidents’ Day class to explore the different U.S. Presidents in nature. The class meets from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., on Monday, Feb 15, at the Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd. Appropriate outdoor clothing is required. For more information or to register, call 847/448-8256.
